Not much is known about the history of the beast. Logan has been around for far longer than most men. He is among the first mutants, alongside the likes of Mystique. He had flashes of memories from fighting in World War II, but he's been around for decades, maybe centuries before that. His healing ability has granted him eternal youth, but his memory loss has taken his life from him.

What Logan does know is this: he woke up in a laboratory with an indestructible metal known as adamantium grafted to his skeleton. He had retractable claws and the ability to heal from any wound almost instantly. He could sense things beyond a normal man. He was an animal and his dog tag read "Wolverine." He killed everyone.

Wolverine is still trying to find his place in this world. He's found that when people from his past crop up, they are usually trying to kill them. Wolverine's abilities and his identity issues make him cold and distant. Over whatever ages and wars he's survived, he's become a ruthless killer. There is a very thin, gray line of morality that keeps him in the hero category, but he treads it dangerously from time to time.

Logan, despite his anger, impatience, and bloodlust, is very fond of teenagers. He's good with kids. Of course, there are still teenagers that piss him off to no end, which is why Romanova is on his team too. He needs "supervision" when he instructs. Wolverine likes to tell it like it is. He also likes redheads.
